Steven Rogers, Performance Specialist
How Did You End Up In The Health & Fitness Industry?
As a kid, I participated in several different sports and ended up learning several martial art forms, including Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and Boxing. Growing up, I always had an interest in health and fitness and was fascinated by the human body. I have over 20 years of experience within the industry and have enjoyed every second of it. Regardless of if I am working with a professional athlete, a youth athlete, or a weekend warrior, I am passionate about helping others reach their athletic/fitness goals!
What Is Your Favorite Part About Being a Performance Coach?
Helping kids accomplish their athletic goals and watching them develop as an athlete is an incredibly rewarding experience. As cliche as it sounds, hard work and consistency always pay off and I love seeing kids who are committed to the process succeed. I not
only aim to help them develop physically, but I strive to help improve their attitude, work ethic, and confidence. Kids are dealing with a lot these days and there is a lot of negativity in today’s world, so it is incredibly gratifying to watch a youth athlete gain self-confidence that will serve them far beyond their athletic career.
What Is One Piece of Advice You Would Give Athletes Who Are Looking To Excel At The Next Level?
Continuity is Key! Stay humble and hungry and always keep an open heart and an open mind. There is no shortcut to success. There is no secret formula or magic exercise that will take you to the next level. It takes consistent effort and commitment to your craft. My job as a performance coach is to give you the best possible road map to maximize your potential but it is up to you to put in the necessary work. If your goal is to get to the next level you will need a next-level commitment to the process of improving yourself as an athlete.
